Prayer for this month:
A Prayer for Peter Young's Funeral (Alan Argent)
Gracious Lord, eternal creator, beyond the limits of time and space, who can turn us from the shadow and gloom of darkness and death into light and hope of a new day, enable us now to set aside the spectre of distress and sadness that we may hear your words of comfort and solace and be renewed by them. Recalling Peter's life and faith, may be bolstered by your presence in the midst of our natural questioning, doubt and uncertainty. May your Spirit quicken ours and lift us to that godly peace and light which he now knows in full. Bless us, we pray, that your eternal truth may begin to work in us that transformation that Peter knew always work in his heart, we are yours this day and forever.
Amen.
